One of my goals is to provide mental health counseling to people who are transgender/transsexual, to individuals who are questioning their gender identity, and to their families and significant others. Because I am relatively newly licensed and want to establish a reputation in working with LGBT clients, I offer a very reasonable fee. Please email me for more info. alex@mainetransnet.org

If you are looking for a counselor who accepts insurance, or other possible therapists in your area who have taken at least one training on transgender issues and/or has some experience in working with trans clients, I do have a list of names, and would be glad to give you a referral.

My work as the president of Maine Transgender Network, Inc. (MaineTransNet) is separate from my work as a counselor. I am still available to provide consultation, support, and information about gender-related issues, and I do this free of charge. Please be aware, however, that this type of support is limited, and is not counseling/therapy.
